My ideal kitchen is U-shaped but our kitchen space does not permit it. I want it to have 2 sinks so that the other one will be used for drying before keeping inside the cabinets. A must are black granite for a polished look, light-colored cabinets preferably ducco finish with frosted doors and a mosaic backsplash. Dim lights under the cabinet is I want a clean countertop, meaning the only appliances to be seen are the microwave, oven toaster and coffee maker. A black gas range must be with an oven. The ref must be 2-door no-frost and with a wide space inside. A breakfast nook/counter with three modern drop lights will complete that perfect picture. But the question is, can we afford to have that ideal kitchen of mine?

the finished kitchen |
Well, the finished kitchen pic is really not yet finished. White blinds were already installed as of now. Then, we are still using a 2-burner stove (which was a wedding gift to us). The gas range and range hood are hopefully soon to come. And we're still thinking if a breakfast nook is still necessary. Our kitchen is still a project in-the-making :)
Now, this is where I'll be cooking (and baking - when the range comes in):
- breakfast every 6 AM while listening to Kabayan Noli De Castro and Ted Failon
- lunch during Saturdays and Sundays if we won't go out and;
- dinner when I'm not that tired from a long day at work
Goodluck to me! :)
